Steve retired from the military as a lieutenant colonel after serving over 30 years with the Active Army and the Army National Guard. He served as the attorney magistrate for Midland County’s 75th District Court for 11 years. He is part of the Advisory Staff to the Barnes Bullet Company.  He is a published author, his articles on legal and other aspects of personal protection appearing in the national magazine Concealed Carry.

He is a member of the NRA, MUCC, MCRGO and a life member of AMVETS, the U.S. Cavalry and Armor Association, and the Military Officers Association of America.

Steve is an NRA certified instructor in Basic Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun, Home Firearm Safety, Metallic Reloading, Personal Protection in the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home – Level I, Level II and Advanced – and a Chief Range Safety Officer.  He is also a USCCA Affiliate Instructor.

He is qualified as an expert with pistol, rifle, machine guns and tank weapons.

Steve has also received formal training in Practical Rifle, Close Quarters Tactics (CQT), and Improvised Weapons from nationally and internationally recognized trainers including Cumberland Tactics, Randy Cain, and Steve Tarani.
